Literary Event: Senior Student Showcase at LV Charter High School for the Arts

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) LIterary Arts Department will hold its Senior Literary Showcase on Friday, May 30th in the school’s Commons Cafe. Students will share their original works of poetry, novels, short stories, and more! Guests can walk around the room to speak with these talented writers about the work, their passion and writing process. Doors open at 6:30 PM. This is a free, non-ticketed event. Literary Arts is one of Charter Arts’ seven artistic majors. Students of the literary arts department engage in a comprehensive writing curriculum with courses such as Character Development, Exploration of Modernism & Postmodernism, Children’s Literature, Film Studies, Exploration of the Romantic Style, Media Studies, and more. Literary Arts Artistic Director, Kristin Liemberger, shares: “Students write and analyze creatively and critically, experimenting with their own creative voices in the construction, production, and performance of original works. This intensive program provides students with a rigorous curriculum rooted in the creative process while reinforcing that reading, writing, film, and the spoken word are integral parts of the history and advancement of society.” Guests are encouraged to also attend the school’s Production Arts Portfolio Event, taking place the same evening. Student designers will display their various set designs, costume designs, prop designs, lighting designs, films that they created this year to support the school’s productions and events. This is also a non-ticketed event.
