Fig Giving Back: Joshway

After the tragic loss of his brother, David Robertson transformed his grief into a force for good by founding Joshway, a nonprofit honoring his brother's legacy by empowering youth to learn, inspire, and lead.

After the tragic loss of his brother, David Robertson transformed his grief into a force for good by founding Joshway, a nonprofit honoring his brother’s legacy by empowering youth to learn, inspire, and lead.

At its heart, Joshway is dedicated to nurturing Lehigh Valley’s next generation of creative talent, guiding future leaders to discover their strengths and potential. Through collaborations with local organizations such as El Sistema and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Allentown and Bethlehem, Joshway provides innovative programs that build technical skills and instill confidence in children and teens throughout the region.

Joshway’s programs harness the positive potential of technology while addressing its challenges. “With my background in tech, we saw an opportunity to show kids that technology can be a healthy and constructive tool,” David said. Through recent events at the Apple Store, participants learned coding, music production, and graphic design, gaining valuable skills and confidence to face future challenges. The experiences offered through Joshway’s programs inspire youth to envision futures they may not have thought possible.

They are the future leaders, and it’s essential they tap into that potential,” David said. “Joshway is dedicated to unlocking opportunities and cultivating competencies so that participants can confidently lead and teach their communities.”

Looking ahead, Joshway is excited to expand its offerings with new programs in financial literacy, mindfulness, sports, and nutrition. Additionally, the organization has established a scholarship fund at Northampton Community College (NCC) to support students aspiring to further their education.

Joshway’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and fostering a supportive community is transforming young lives across the Lehigh Valley. To learn more about their programs or contribute to their NCC Endowment fund, visit joshway.org/scholarship.
