Fig Giving Back: Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem

Fig Giving Back highlights places making a difference in the lives of others.

Boys & Girls Club Program Director Scott Perry was an elementary school aged boy dealing with his parents’ separation when he walked into the Club for the first time. And he never left. At age 19, Scott was offered full-time employment with the nonprofit. Soon after, he was joined by Unit Director Lisa Ramos, who began her career building out programs for girls at the Club and throughout the years took on many programmatic and administrative roles.

For decades, countless youth in Bethlehem have found a safe space for mentorship, development, and sports at the Boys & Girls Club, thanks largely to Scott and Lisa.

From the likes of professional basketball player Darrun Hilliard who played rec basketball in the Club, to troubled teens turned successful military professionals, to today’s doctors, lawyers, financiers, teachers, and everyday moms and dads living in the Lehigh Valley – so many have been impacted by this dynamic duo.

Then and now, within the walls of the Club, kids are seen, heard, loved and cared for. Connections made here shape futures and last a lifetime. For most, it’ll always be a place to call home.
