Authenic: Devika Knafo
For entrepreneur Devika Knafo, motherhood sparked a shift in priorities and inspired a movement.
After returning to the Lehigh Valley to raise her family, Devika Knafo noticed how difficult it can be for mothers to find authentic connection and creative outlets. Her answer was to establish The Mom Market, a seasonal pop-up at the Bethlehem Rose Garden that brings together moms who are building businesses, pursuing passions, and balancing it all with grace.
Free and open to the public, the family-friendly event features entirely mom-owned and women-owned vendors. Attendees enjoy food, entertainment, crafters, and local merchants, plus activities like yoga, storytime with Ms. Rachel, and a Disney Princess and Hero dance party.
“Motherhood is a role I deeply honor,” Devika said. “At the same time, I believe it’s equally important for women to have a meaningful source of income and a space for creative expression beyond being a mom.”

Devika runs The Mom Market as part of her marketing firm, The Digital Attaché. She’s visited more than 30 countries and brings a global perspective to her local work. Drawing from a family of entrepreneurs, she connected with other women in business across the region and quickly recognized a shared desire for collaboration.
“Talking with these women proved that thoughtful ambition and family dedication can go hand in hand,” she said. “That’s the beauty of The Mom Market. It removes the challenges of finding other entrepreneurs by bringing together a diverse group of women who are building businesses rooted in their skills and passions.”

The Mom Market has grown rapidly. Following a successful summer debut, the fall event expanded to 60 vendors and multiple sponsors, signaling the strong demand for the supportive space Devika is creating.
“Getting to know all the women involved has been so fulfilling,” Devika said. “As a parent, having people around you to support you is so important. This is designed to uplift business-minded women who want to grow on their own terms amidst the chaos of motherhood.”
Devika’s work with The Mom Market is a powerful catalyst for connection and empowerment. “Together as a collective, we’re building more than just a market,” she said. “It’s a community grounded in mutual support, respect, and shared ambition.”
