Sometimes a new path appears that we never even knew existed. “I had a professional trajectory of what my career was going to look like,” says Sandra Freeman, owner of Your CBD Store in Easton. “And yet, here we are!” An accountant working for a large company in the south, Sandra never thought she would be a small business owner. But when a friend opened her own Your CBD Store, and not only succeeded personally but was bringing relief to others, Sandra started to wonder. When she and her family moved back to the Lehigh Valley—Sandra grew up in Bethlehem, and coming home “always made sense”—could she open a store of her own?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is an oil compound extracted from hemp that does not, like marijuana, contain the psychoactive THC. An anti-inflammatory used in natural, holistic pain relief that works by encouraging systemic balance—rather than targeting only specific receptors in the nervous system—CBD’s popularity is increasing exponentially. Sandra was at first skeptical. But once she started taking it to treat her own IBS, she experienced fewer, less aggressive flare-ups, and genuine relief. “It works,” she says. “I get it. And I’m someone who is very anti-drug; I’ve never done drugs, not even pharmaceuticals.”

The national company was founded by Rachael Quinn, who first used it to treat her Crohn’s disease. Your CBD Store carries a curated variety of SunMed-branded products—CBD oils, gel capsules, tinctures, all produced in Colorado under high controls and standards—to suit your needs and preferences, and Sandra is on hand to educate and advise.
Knowing her customers’ experience relief, and seeing how the products “have influenced other peoples’ lives for the better,” is her favorite part of the work. Now, she hopes “the stigma goes away,” that the medical field sees the value in CBD and that it isn’t just a fad. “CBD,” says Sandra, “has its place in natural wellness.”
